On 16-18 June 2023, APCOM organized the 4th Thailand LGBTQI+ Biz Forum 2023 over three days during the Pride Month celebrations, at the Riverside Plaza, Bangkok, Thailand.
The event brought about 500 participants and reached 5,000 views through Prachatai social media platforms to join an exciting opportunity to further the social and economic inclusion of LGBTQI+ in Thailand given the recent elections. This year we are hosted by Riverside Plaza and officially supported by the Open Society Foundations, Voice Global, Krubb Bangkok and TEAK.
“It is so exciting to have this forum back to its physical meeting this year, as APCOM advocates on advancing the rights, and protection of people with diverse Sexual Orientations, Gender Identities and Expressions, and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC) and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex (LGBTQI) community in Asia and the Pacific region,”
commented APCOM Executive Director, Midnight.
“The forum aims to promote diversity and inclusion for LGBTQI community in Thailand, led by and for the community which we hope can be replicated in other countries in the region by our partners as well.”
APCOM hosted the first Thailand LGBTQI+ Biz Forum in 2020. Due to the uniqueness of the event that brings different stakeholders together to advance LGBTQI social and economic inclusion, we have been holding the Thailand LGBTQI+ Biz Forum on an annual basis.
The impact from this forum is strengthening networking and collaboration among LGBTQI community, private sectors, and other stakeholders, while creating platform that promotes LGBTQI social and economic inclusion and a template for our partners in other countries to create a similar platform. Highlights of the forums are discussions from many aspects and multi stakeholders under the theme “Rights and Welfare of LGBTQI+ People in the Workplace”.

Besides the formal panel sessions, spectacular community shows were also performed in the event from our professional LGBTQI performers and allies, for example, Moonlight Bar, Srimala (Drag queen), Hip Hop Break Dance by Chanu, Solo Violin by Zor Chalat, Bangkok Gay Men’s Chorus, Terasudandhi Band by Ren Entertainment, Solo performance by Daofah (Drag queen), Live Music by Daddy and Bear, Contemporary Dance by Mister Gay World Thailand, and Bring us together by Salaya brass Quintet.
Surrounded by the event, market stalls and the LGBTQI Job Fair booths from the private sector and LGBTQI community groups were set up to attract people walking in the mall. Not to mention, a mini photo exhibition was in place under the theme “Body Positivity by APCOM X I’m in Love with My Body by TEAK” during 16-30 June 2023, in which we would like to promote that everyone is unique and this diversity is beautiful.
The 4th Thailand LGBTQI+ Biz Forum 2023 raises awareness about the Rights and Welfare of LGBTQI+ People in the Workplace that significantly shows that there’s value and opportunity to enhance stronger interlinked communities and broader partner networks from different sectors to support and advance human rights of SOGIESC people for our LGBTQI community.
