In light of the rapid spread of the COVID-19, APCOM is stepping up measures to safeguard our staff, while at the same time addressing the impacts of the global health concern to the work that we do at global, regional and country levels.
During these uncertain times brought about by the growing public concern on COVID-19, APCOM Foundation considers the health and wellbeing of its staff as its utmost priority. In the interest of the staff’s health and safety, APCOM is adopting preventive measures to be observed and closely monitor the situation.
“We are implementing flexible work arrangements for our secretariat staff based in Bangkok. This is an interim alternative to the standard workdays and workhours, and as means to decrease risk from acquiring or transmitting COVID-19” said Midnight Poonkasetwattana, APCOM’s Executive Director.
“We will also begin to reach out to donors and partners we are working with to re-programme and/or postpone some of the activities towards the latter part of the year, when we hope the situation would be contained,” he added.
To mitigate further risks, APCOM secretariat’s participation to regional meetings and/or activities will be limited.
Despite these arrangements, APCOM is not suspending its operations and the office will remain open and accessible, and would like to assure our partners that whilst this is a trial period, APCOM is also looking at scenario where the situation of COVID-19 may persist and will need to ensure that our remote working across the team can still function and deliver on TENACITY, our strategic framework.
