One of our staff, transman Jimmy (Naphat Krutthai) was one of the 1,754 LGBTQ couples who registered their partnership at Bangkapi District Office in Bangkok, which one of APCOM partner’s Rainbow Sky Association of Thailand partnered with to make the special day even more memorable.
We caught up with Jimmy for him to share his love story.

trans individuals. For the past three years, he has been serving as the SOGIESC Inclusion and
Corporate Engagement Officer at APCOM Foundation, where he works to create a more inclusive
and equitable society for all.

Naphat and Rasi’s love story has spanned nine years, a journey filled with growth,
support, and a shared vision for the future.
Tell us how you met, and how long you have been together?
Jim: We met 9 years ago. At that time, I was her online personal trainer, and she had just started taking care of her health. Through the online training, we started talking and sharing many things with each other, such as lifestyle, meals, snacks, exercise, and leisure time.
What attracted you to each other?
Jim: It was her smile.
Rasi: He always takes care of all my little things.
Can you please share some of the best qualities of your partner?
Jim: She is the person that always takes care of people around her.
Rasi: He is the one who is always with me.

Can you please share with us some of your goals that you’ve accomplished together so far?
Jim: We passed small steps of improvement for our relationship day by day and now we can celebrate our 9 years together by registering our marriage.
Rasi: I think as long as we are together and can still take care of our family, these are the most important things that we have done together.
Tell us why this marriage equality law is important for you both that you decide to register your marriage on this historic day?
Rasi: When we got older, we realized that the marriage registration is not to prove our love, but also to ensure that we can take care of our family when it comes to an emergency situation, and that we are recognized under the law.
Jim: We have faced so many things together, we love, we fight, we care for each other and when we learn that love is not only about having the good things [in life] but how we handle each other at the worst parts. We decided to get our marriage license on this historic day to celebrate our 9 years anniversary.
What emotions did you go through on the day? Tell us more about what it was like to go through this historic day, and getting your marriage certificate? How did you celebrate afterwards?
Jim and Rasi: It almost looked like any other normal day. We decided to go to the district office near our place in the morning just before we go to work. Of course it was really exciting and as we advocated for ourselves and our rights for marriage equality in Thailand for the past 4 years. That day will be one of our most memorable moments.

Tell us about your plans for the wedding party, and honeymoon?
Jim and Rasi: We have planned our wedding party in March 2026 to celebrate our step to our 10 years of relationship. For the honeymoon it might be at some nice island but we are not sure where yet.
Can you please share with us some of your goals that you would like to accomplish together in the future?
Rasi: I just wanna have a happy life with my family.
Jim: We would like to live our life full of joy and can see the young generation grow up and enjoy their life as anyone else in the society without fear, shame, discrimination, and stigma.
Do you have any message for LGBTQ couples in countries that don’t yet have marriage equality?
Jim and Rasi: Life is your own choice, do whatever that makes you happy
We wish Jim and Rasi a wonderful married life ahead, and all the best for their wedding party next year!
