Mr Gay Japan, Japan’s first and only gay pageant, was held with the internationally recognized beauty pageant, Miss Grand Japan, in Tokyo on July 16th.
After a rigorous assessment of the finalists’ past activities within the LGBTQ+ community and their speeches, Daiki was crowned Mr Gay Japan 2023, making him the sixth Mr Gay Japan.

Daiki is a full-time ESG consultant in Japan and volunteers for Pride House Tokyo as a staff member. He also created a poster with information on free lifelines and counseling for LGBTQ+ youth and has been distributing it to high schools and colleges in Japan.

During the speech, Daiki shared his struggles with mental illness in his childhood and his passion to use his experience to raise more awareness of and support mental health within the LGBTQ+ community.
Daiki will attend international conferences, possibly including Mr Gay World, to represent the LGBTQ+ community in Japan.
“I want to thank everyone who supported me along the way, including my family and friends. I will try my best to support the LGBTQ+ community and promote the legalization of same-sex marriage in Japan,”
