Inception meeting
The inception meeting was conducted from October 10-12, 2018, in Bali, Indonesia. This coincided with the World Bank Civil Society Policy Forum (CSPF) where APCOM was able to secure a session.
The inception meeting was attended by APCOM and representatives from country partner organizations from Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, and the Philippines. The inception meeting was designed to know the partners organizations more; discuss the LGBTQI situation in the countries where the project is being implemented; and discuss project details.
It also had a Linking and Learning aspect as resource speakers from multilateral development banks and other LGBTQI organizations shared their perspectives on working with MDBs and possible strategies.
Country visits
To have more discussions about the project, present the project to target stakeholders in each country, and to identify possible strategies and collaborations, APCOM conducted country visits to Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, and the Philippines.
During the trips, meetings were conducted with ADB Resident Missions, World Bank country offices, and HIVOS/OXFAM and/or Voice country teams.
Cambodia
July 8 – 13, 2019 at Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Activities included meetings with MRI Cambodia, Asian Development Bank Cambodia, World Bank Cambodia, and VOICE Cambodia.
Indonesia
June 17 – 22, 2019 at Jarkata, Indonesia. Activities included meetings with Suara Kita, Asian Development Bank Indonesia, and Hivos.
Lao PDR
May 7 -11, 2019 at Vientiane, Lao PDR. Activities included meetings with CHIAs (formerly LaoPHA) Asian Development Lao PDR, World Bank Lao PDR, and Oxfam Lao PDR.
The Philippines
December 19, 2018, and January 7 – 9, 2019 at Manila, the Philippines. Activities included meetings with representatives from Asian Development headquarters and Babaylanes.
Country partners meeting 2019
Finance Inc Partners Meeting was conducted from December 16 – 18, 2019, in Bangkok, Thailand. The meeting was to share updates on project implementation, challenges, reflections, and adjustments to the project. APCOM and country partners also developed our project Theory of Change during this meeting.
