KPMG has a strong focus on building diversity. In India there are various initiatives, such as insurance coverage for everyone, regardless of their gender and can nominate their spouses, which includes live-in and same-sex relationships for cover. KPMG is currently working on their ally program called ‘Allies for Inclusion’ where they have more than 400 people across KPMG registered as allies. Through this program, they have done more than 12 sensitisation programs. Their Director of Diversity and Inclusion at KPMG India, Zainab Patel—being a transgender woman leading on such a program—is an example for other corporates to ensure LGBTQI inclusion.
