This award recognizes those working in the fields of politics, the law, advocacy or human rights whose work has advanced the human and/or civil rights of LGBTQI people and/or people affected by HIV in countries in Asia and the Pacific or across the region more broadly.
Kittinun (Danny) Daramahaj is a lawyer/ attorney, President of Rainbow Sky Association of Thailand (RSAT) and President of Multi-Sexuality Community Advisory Board (M-CAB), being involved in projects on the prevention of HIV and Sexual Transmitted Diseases (STDs) among the LGBTQIs under the support of USAID, PEPFAR, Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Centre, Global Fund; and National Health Security Office (NHSO).
For the past thirty years, I have been asking myself all the time why we even have to fight for the basic human rights that we deserve since birth. We were born in diversities but we are being discriminated on the ground of being diverse. This has been my mission to eradicate all forms of discrimination, no matter how long it would take. As the President of Rainbow Sky Association of Thailand. I strive to ensure improved life quality for people with sexual diversity. I am very honored to receive this Hero Award. I will continue the fight to ensure equal rights for all of us! Thank you.
