This award recognizes a community or not for profit organisation which has worked to improve the health and/or rights of LGBTQI people and/or people affected by HIV in specific countries in Asia and the Pacific or across the region more broadly.
The Tonga Leitis Association (TLA) was established in 1992 under the guidance of its 1st President Mrs Papiloa Foliaki MP. TLA works to develop and nurture our distinctive talents, gifts, self-concept, self-esteem and behaviours, while promoting the ongoing support, love, care and respect for ourselves and each other.
I would like to thank APCOM for all that you have done. Thank you so much for this award. We will take it whole heartedly and accepted it with a lot of love to those who we have lost through HIV, AIDS and STI and of course to those who have suffered the stigma and discrimination.
