APCOM’s AIDS2020 Pre-Conference Speaker
Phorng Chanthorn is 33 years old with two Master Degrees. He has been working with KHANA since 2012, and since then he has held many roles within the organization. Currently, Chanthorn works as a Partnership & Networking Coordinator with his capacity to lead, manage and coordinate the policy and advocacy works surrounding HIV, Tuberculosis (TB), Universal Health Coverage (UHC) to support the marginalized and vulnerable groups including key populations, sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI), Gender-Based Violence (GBV), human rights etc. He works to strengthen the key population community networks of HIV and TB, and help them through development. He also helps out with public relation and resource mobilization.
Chanthorn has been engaged in a few projects funded by USAID in both HIV/AIDS and TB. Under this portfolio’s works under this particular donor, he has worked to strengthen the community and CSO engagement in the national HIV/AIDS platforms, TB programs, Country Operation Plan (previously known as a mechanism of USAID at country level), and the Global Fund mechanisms at country level, called Country Coordinating Committee (CCC).
