From 26 – 27 March 2019, KHANA with the technical assistance support APCOM organized a 2-day capacity building workshop on Global Fund for key population. This workshop was held in Phnom Penh City, in Cambodia. 35 participants attended this workshop, including representatives from KP (Key population) networks, CCM secretariat, KP representatives of CCM, and other key stakeholders.
On 14 June 2019, KHANA holds a Global Fund project orientation meeting with Country Co ordinating Committee, Sub Recipients, and Sub Sub Recipients. This meeting accommodated 17 participants. These two events aim to enhance the participants understanding on Global Fund project, its funding request, and Global Fund processes.
The participants hold the opinion that there is a limited participation or involvement from the communities of MSM and transgender people, and other key populations in the discussions of Global Fund – funding request (2018 – 2020). Key population lacks capacity to gather information and evidence about the quality of services under National Grant which hinders
effective engagement in Global Fund – funding request (2018- 2020). Furthermore, it has successfully surfaced very specific needs of key population communities which would help them meaningfully participate in Global Fund – funding request.

Through these events, KHANA strengthened the knowledge and skills of participants on Global Fund project, and Global Fund – funding request. KHANA also looking forward to provide technical assistance support to participants to help them effectively participate in Global Fund- funding request.
