Looking good, feeling great: HIV prevention during lockdown

Andrew Christian is one of the most famous underwear brands. One of Andrew’s best sellers is his amazing line of technically advanced, custom woven men’s underwear – known for making you look sexy and feeling great. The brand has even appeared in the world’s most famous drag show as official ‘’Pit Crew” sponsors on Rupaul’s Drag Race ( Yeah! Gurl!!!.)

Andrew has been an avid supporter of APCOM since 2019, and has donated a number of his well-known underwear in order to expand HIV messages to our community in Thailand through our TestBKK campaign.

During the COVID-19, Andrew is supporting APCOM’s condoms and lubricants delivery, which features a TestBKK bag with condoms and lubricants, HIV information card, plus Andrew Christian underwear in exchange for a donation to our LGBTQI community to prevent HIV during the COVID-19 period. Since April, we distributed around 10,000 condoms and lubricants – and the addition of Andrew’s underwear drove up the demand for condoms and lubricants as well as discussion about sex and COVID-19 prevention during lockdown.

Our Executive Director said, “For many people in our community, human connection, intimacy and sex does not stop because of lockdowns and curfew – and we are providing HIV prevention tools as well as information that they may not otherwise have been able to access.”

Andrew said that the reason he supports APCOM is because he has visited Thailand many times and fell in love with the openness and warmth of Thai culture, and added that,

“The LGBTQ community is a global community not separated by borders and it’s important for us to support each other unconditionally. The LGBTQI community is about acceptance and celebrating our differences. APCOM has worked to further these core values.”

This message is very valuable to our work and our community. APCOM would like to say a big thank you to Andrew Christian for supporting our work, our community and LGBTQI around the world.

APCOM’s TestBKK is supported by USAID Linkages across the Continuum of HIV Services for Key Populations Affected by HIV (LINKAGES) project.
