APCOM in partnership with The Poz Home Center, Rainbow Sky Association of Thailand, and SWING hosted an HLM debriefing session on 22 July 2021.
The online debriefing session was attended by a representative of the Permanent Mission of Thailand to the UN, Khun Pornrawe Poenateetai and representatives of the Thai Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health.
Insights were exchanged about the HLM processes to get to the 2021 Political Declaration, and discussion on some of Thailand’s strong leadership on issues such as U=U, community-led /key population-led responses, as well as multidrug-resistant TB, and the availability of viral load testing.
The discussion with civil society organisations working on HIV was seen as an important space to enable understanding of the actual on the ground programme implementation by key populations which can further be strengthened as Thailand is proud of its key population-led model. As such, there were discussions on having more of this forum in the future particularly with the Permanent Mission of Thailand to the UN in Geneva.
