APCOM ended January conducting “Regional Dialogue for APCOM’s City-based HIV testing campaign”. Our fabulous team members from TestHKG (city-based in Hongkong), and TestJOG (city-based campaign Yogyakarta) joined this meeting and had excitingly shared their campaign journey and experiences. This 2-day dialogue also created a free space for campaigners to discuss strategies that they have adopted to develop an innovative campaign.
During the dialogue, the campaigners expressed that TestHKG and TestYKA had reached out to a wider young MSMs and Stakeholders in Hongkong and Yogyakarta respectively. Likewise, campaign materials and videos gained good popularity in both cities and had contributed to encourage young MSM uptake HIV health services, and other HIV related services. Both testing campaigns not only contributed to an increase in HIV testing numbers but also disseminated effective messages on how to maximize health and happiness if one is positive. This statement from both team members is evident that TestHKG and TestYKA have gained popularity amongst young MSMs, and relevant Stakeholders. This 2-day dialogue had left the Campaigners with strategy/ action plan/ new ideas for sustaining their HIV testing campaigns.
