There are some leverages to work on under the HIV spectrum as in Pakistan.
Community safe spaces provide vital support for marginalized groups by offering HIV/AIDS awareness, psychosocial assistance, behavior change communication, and guidance on mental health and overall well being. However, operating these safe spaces has never been easy. For communities already burdened by stigma and discrimination, accessing dignity and respect remains a constant struggle.
Pakistan is a developing country with very little awareness on human rights. Things get worse when it comes to gender minorities. Fortunately transgender community has been able to raise its voice for recognition and very basic human rights. It is because the traditional Khawajah sira culture gives centuries old social identity to this minority. Unlike transgender community, homosexuals and bisexuals live a discrete life without having the power to raise their voices. Being homosexual can lead to life imprisonment in a country like Pakistan. So, the homosexual and bisexual community are completely marginalized and do not have access to any sort of freedom.
Many homosexuals end up being trapped in social and family violence. Religion has also played its role as it has some leverage for transgender community but zero tolerance towards homosexuals. Considering both religious and social stigmas towards homosexuality and bisexuality it becomes extremely difficult to live with dignity, and peace.
Considering future prospects, it seems impossible in near future for homosexuals and bisexuals to have legal identities. Because of fear and unacceptable behavior of society very few gay people have the courage to come out and raise their voices. This lesser visibility by this community also makes it marginalized.
