Founded in 2012, Humraz Male Health Society is a very first community-led organization service delivery point that exists to improve the sexual health, welfare and human rights for males who have sex with males and their partners in Hyderabad, Sindh. Humraz does this by providing services which include volunteer counseling and testing, sexually transmitted infection diagnosis and treatment, psychosocial counseling, distribution of condoms and water-based lubricant as well as advocating for sexual, welfare and human rights.
Consisting 15 full-time staff, Humraz for the advancement of the social and health needs of marginalized males by supporting the development of community-led health and social interventions along with advocating for social justice, equity, health and well-being.
Since 2012, Humraz has been one of the national recipients of the Multi-country South Asia Global Fund HIV Programme (MSA), in which APCOM acts as the programme’s regional sub-recipient. Humraz’s most recent projects completed under MSA include establishing groups of male sex workers and young MSM for regular outreach and skill building, creating city-level mapping of health services to address HIV issues among MSM, and convening national level advocacy/consultative Technical Working Group meetings to monitor programme progress/strategic information and review policy environment.
