World Health Organization (WHO) has been a long-standing actor who paves the way to accomplish an AIDS-free generation. In achieving such vision, WHO understands that, as the fight against HIV and AIDS shifts from an emergency response to a long-term response, the role of civil society organizations (CSOs) and the community members of the affected populations becomes even more critical.
While influencing governments to take a lead and develop and implement comprehensive multisectoral HIV response strategies, WHO leverages the role of communities in incorporating and enhancing these efforts with their local community needs and primacy.
For the past decade, APCOM is proud to be a part of the community representatives engaged and supported by WHO to serve the MSM and transgender communities in Asia and the Pacific. From condom use to PrEP roll out, from technical consultation group membership to a partnership on conducting regional consultation, some of the collaborations between APCOM and WHO can be revisited from the list below.
