Since the Covid-19 pandemic time,
we have been more attuned to our own mental health needs, and the wellbeing of our staff.
Being part of a safe, positive community is vital for our mental health and wellbeing,
and APCOM started a monthly wellbeing activity for our staff usually taking place
on the last Friday of the month.
We are proud to have been able to continue the staff wellbeing activity since the pandemic time,
with the activities led, coordinated and organized by our own staff.
And we are proud to continue making an effort to prioritize the mental health and wellbeing of our staff,
raising awareness of mental health and how we need to look after it, and how important it is to get help if you are struggling.
Our staff candidly shares with you their reflections from the monthly wellbeing activity,
the bonding time with colleagues, ensuring that our staff has the time to rest,
recharge, and recenter.
Hello, I’m Som Som, a Financial Officer. Today, we have an activity about mental health called Growing trees in bottles. This took place at the CUP PRINT coffee shop, which is not far from the office, convenient to travel, and has a beautiful small garden in front of the shop.

The event team has prepared materials for growing plants in bottles, including trees, rocks, grass, and decorative items for the bottles. Staff will bring their own bottles for the activity, most of which are not newly purchased. Many are repurposed bottles from home, which are cleaned and recycled, making it a very eco-friendly and creative DIY project.
I asked two colleagues about their opinions on this event.
“I felt that my expectations were greatly exceeded. At first, it seemed just like a regular activity. But once I got involved, it was so much fun chatting with friends.” practicing creativity, and relaxing. I would love to participate in an activity like this again.”
Jimmy
“I like the place. It feels airy and suitable for sitting and working or doing this activity. And I can bring the plants to my condo and care for them to grow.”

What I gained from this activity was a sense of relaxation and improved focus. I enjoyed seeing the unique plant jars decorated by my friends. Each one was beautiful in its own way, with no single design being the best. Every plant has its imperfections, but it reflects everyone’s genuine effort and intention. There was laughter, conversation, and the café provided a wonderful atmosphere. I felt like we truly took a break,—relaxing and letting go of other thoughts, allowing us to connect with ourselves more deeply.
