APCOM joins the World Bank on a panel at the ERC conference Building Inclusive Development Frameworks: The journey to LGBTQI+ Inclusive Development through policy, practice, and accountability

The World Bank organized a session on December 18th focused on inclusive development and the role of Multilateral Development Bank (MDBs) and the private sector. The session provided an overview of the work of the MDBs to promote LGBTQI+ inclusive development through policy and practice, and the role of the private sector in unlocking the economic potential of LGBTQI+ people. The session will bring together MBDs, the private sector, civil society organizations and ERC member states to discuss current good practices and challenges for inclusive and sustainable development for all.

The session was chaired by Clifton Cortez, SOGI Global Advisor, World Bank, with eminent speakers including Steve Letsike Deputy Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, South Africa, and Dragana Todorović, Executive Co-Director, Eurocentralasian Lesbian Community.

Our Executive Director was on the session talking about our experience of working with the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank which APCOM has been engaging with since 2018.

We’ll bring more information to the session on our issue on working with Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs).
